Let’s come together to recognize our strengths and lift one another up!

This year, we welcome Dr. Sophie Two Hawk—the first Native American graduate of USD’s School of Medicine, South Dakota’s first Native American physician, and a leader in public health—a true trailblazer who has spent her life defying odds and paving the way for others.

But her story doesn’t stop there. She’s passed that fire to all three of her daughters. Dr. Arna Mora, Dr. Carol Whitman and Mashke Goicoechea (pre-med student) who will join her in a powerful panel discussion about resilience, leadership, and the impact of strong role models, an inspiring testament to what it means to lead the way for the next generation. Dr. Arna and Dr Carol are dedicated to providing medical care and representation for underrepresented communities, with Mashke, a rising leader currently pursuing a career in medicine. All three of Dr. Two Hawk’s daughters are continuing the family’s legacy of service and breaking barriers for Native women in healthcare.

In Her Shoes offers attendees the opportunity to network, connect, and enjoy a delightful breakfast before Dr. Two Hawk and her daughters take the stage.

For over a century, EmBe has empowered women to pursue their personal and professional goals, whether at home, in the workplace, or in their communities. In Her Shoes is more than just an event—it’s a movement that encourages women to embrace leadership, redefine possibilities and embrace the responsibility to lift others along the way.

This event is a call to action for all women to step into their power, embrace their own journeys, and uplift those around them. Bring your sister. Invite your coworkers. Get a table with your best friends —this is a morning you won’t want to miss.
